Lake McConaughy

We had an extended weekend getaway and went to Lake McConaughy in Nebraska. We had a great time. While we were there we watched the water rise everyday. When we arrived on Thursday the water was several feet from this wooden dock. By the the time we left on Monday the water was completely around the dock.
Ken and Natalie launched the boat and set out on the first trip to the lake.

I was able to caught the first fish and it ended up being a 4 lb catfish. Tasha caught one that was even bigger probably around 6 or 7 lb. We stuck them on the chain. By the time we got back to shore Tasha's fish had wiggled enough to come off the chain and swim away. She was pretty upset about it.

We decided to go exploring on Father's Day because the weather was to windy to put the canoe in the water. We went to the visitor center and then drove around the 20 mile lake.

Natalie was so happy she was able to caught some fish because her first fish just like Tasha's first fish managed to get away. Here are the girl's displaying their catch for the day.

Tasha did not want to clean her fish and as you can tell from her face was not thrilled that we made her help.

Natalie was a little more willing but not overly excited either. Over all we had a great trip and really enjoyed our time away.
